How to charge a customer in instalments

Last updated on Jun 23, 2025

You can offer customers the flexibility to pay for a class in instalments. Follow the steps below to set this up:

Instructions:

  1. Create your course and class dates as usual.

  2. In the charge options, select "Charge in Instalments". This charges customers a deposit at checkout and the remaining balance at a later date.

  3. By default, the settings are 20% deposit and 80% remaining balance, both charged immediately. Click on the Edit (pencil icon) to customize.

  4. Configure each instalment: Name the first instalment (e.g., "Deposit"), set the percentage (e.g., 20%), and schedule (e.g., Immediately).

  5. Set up remaining instalments: Name each subsequent instalment (e.g., "Second Payment") and repeat the previous step. Enter the percentage (e.g., 20%) and schedule (e.g., 4 weeks before class start). Additional instalment fields will appear automatically as you adjust the percentages, until the total reaches 100% and the Remaining Percentage is 0%.

  6. Once you're happy with your instalment setup, click "Done" to save. You can then proceed to create your tickets. Note: Customers will have the option to pay in instalments or pay the full amount upfront at checkout.
